On 8/17/12, the SEC shut down Zeek Rewards claiming it was running a $600 million dollar ponzi scheme. Now everyone who was a part of Zeek Rewards or wanted to get in on it too are wondering if it's all over. Here are the facts: 1. The SEC has accused Zeek Rewards of running a Ponzi scheme. This does not mean it's actually true. Accusations have to be proven. 2. It will take many months if not longer for this case to be settled. 3. Whether or not Zeek Rewards will continue running is still up in the air. 4. If you want to invest in Zeek Rewards, now is not going to work. The site is down and there's no guarantee if this company will be running when the SEC case is settled. There are probably many of you reading this page right now who are not part of Zeek Rewards but wanted to give it a shot because you may have heard about it from a friend/family member. How Zeek Rewards Works:

Zeek Rewards made it's money 3 ways: 1. By having members "invest" money into it. The money a member puts into Zeek Rewards turns into point/bids which could then be used to accumilate more points or redeem the points for money. 2. A referal program in which members could refer new members in exchange for commissions and points. 3. By working together with a penny auction website called Zeekler.com. Zeek Rewards would have it's members create daily ads for Zeekler. The more members posting ads, the more traffic Zeekler got, which in turn made more money for Zeekler. This is why Zeek Rewards had a major referral program. Zeekler would take whatever it would make everyday through it's auctions and divide it up with Zeek Rewards. Zeek Rewards would then take 50% of what it made and divide that up evenly amongst it's members. Each day, there would be anywhere in between a 1%-2% profit. This profit would be added to a member's total points (not money). Example: If a member had 10,000 points (They invested $10,000) and Zeek Rewards had a 1% profit for a day. The person would have 1% added to the 10,000 points, making their total 10,100 points. The member could then redeem the extra 100 points for money or continue accumilating points which would mean greater profits. The Big Picture: The purpose of Zeek Rewards was to have as many members posting ads. This meant more profits for Zeekler which meant more profit for Zeek Rewards. Whatever a day's profits would bring, Zeekler and Zeek Rewards would split it. Zeek Rewards woul then take 50% of what they made and divide that up with their members in the form of points. The purpose of the point system was to give members an incentive to remain on the program and continue accumilating points. The more points a member had, the more each day's profits made by Zeek Rewards would bring. But it wasn't as easy as it seemed to make money with this business. Here were the biggest problems: 1. You needed alot of money to see results with this business. The more money you put into it, the better head start you had to getting it back and making more money in the process. Most people didn't have an extra $500, $1,000 or let alone $10,000. 2. It had questionable business practices which made it risky to join. It's business model looked very much like a pyramid scheme. There were however alot of happy customers. The only skeptics were the people who haven't tried it. 3. You needed to have marketing experience, online or offline to see any major results. Zeek Rewards had a major referral program. For each person you refered, you would get a portion of their investments as well as through whoever they refered. If you had marketing experience, you would have likely been very successful with Zeek rewards. However, most people do not possess that and would find it almost impossible to refer even 1 person. Why The SEC Believes It's A Ponzi Scheme: The SEC claims Zeek Rewards used the point system to mask the "fact" that they were not making enough money from the daily profits with Zeekler to pay everyone and thus whenever someone wanted to checkout their points for money, Zeek Rewards would use another person's money and send them that. In other words, just like a real ponzi scheme, people were being paid from other people's investments, not from actual money supposedly being made from the penny auction website. This claim is going to be VERY difficult to beat because there is indeed alot of controversy surrounding the business model of Zeek Rewards. Either way things turn out, hopefully investors will get their money back. Zeek Rewards does have a 14 year $0 debt and clean slate so it may even be so that they prove themselves not guilty.
